I do not represent both sides in the preparation of a separation agreement.

You are telling me what your agreement with your spouse is on the particular issue.  I then will send you a draft of the agreement (as I understand it) which you and your spouse will review together and then you, and you alone, get back to me with any changes.  Once those changes are made, I will send you an original and two copies of the agreement which you and your spouse will sign before a notary public, each of you keeping one and sending the other to me which I will file with the court when we file for your final divorce.  It is made part of the final decree and if either of you violate its terms, you could be found in contempt of court.  You don’t want to go there, for sure.
